Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valves feed exhaust gas into the air intake system. In addition, they reduce combustion temperature. They lower NOx (nitrogen oxides) in the chamber to reduce harmful smog. Locate installed valves in a passage between the air intake manifold and exhaust system. Additional sensors such as solenoids, regulate the exhaust gas flow.
